Youth Music Program
A free youth music program is being offered to CMSD students and Cleveland residents in grades 3-12. Participants can explore Violin, Guitar, Percussion, and Keyboard/Voice. Classes will be held at Studio 105, the Cudell Rec Center, and the Thurgood Marshall Rec Center. All instruments are provided for free. Beginner Fiber Arts with Art House Inc. - Session One
The Carnegie West Branch of the Cleveland Public Library will offer two different three-week series on fiber arts. Using fibers, natural materials, and fabrics students will create unique works of art. Techniques, such as weaving, fabric printing, collage, and painting, will be explored with an Art House, Inc. teaching artist. The first series will be held on September 21, 28, and October 5. The second series will be held on October 12, 19, and 26. These courses are free to participate in and supplies are included at no cost. To register please call the library at 216.623.6927.
Block Party
Join us for the third annual end-of-summer shindig on W. 50th between Bridge and Franklin on September 21 from 2:00-10:00 p.m. Come enjoy food, music, and good vibes. Please note, there will be street closures.
Pre-School Storytime
The Carnegie West Branch of the Cleveland Public Library will offer story time for preschoolers ages 3:00-5:00 p.m. on September 25. This time will include stories, songs, activities, and rhymes specially designed to support reading readiness and foster the social and emotional skills that kids need to succeed as they enter Kindergarten.
Mapping the Past: Exploring Northeast Ohio History
The Carnegie West Branch of the Cleveland Public Library will host “Mapping the Past: Exploring Northeast Ohio History” on Friday, October 4 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. The Cleveland Public Library has over 50,000 maps and 3,000 historic atlases. Join the Map Collection Librarian to learn more about this invaluable local resource while viewing a collection of maps detailing the history of Northeast Ohio throughout from the 16th century to the 20th century.
Harry Potter Party
The Carnegie West Branch of the Cleveland Public Library is throwing a Harry Potter Party on Friday, October 11 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. Celebrate Harry Potter as Carnegie West is transformed into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry! Dress up as your favorite character and join us for crafts, potions, puzzles, snacks, and trivia. Children and teens of all ages are welcome to join us!

Community Meeting
The Cleveland Metropolitan School District and The City of Cleveland will host a Community Meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 19 at the Marion C. Seltzer Elementary School. This will provide an opportunity to view and comment on the Marion C. Seltzer New School Design and Site Plan.
