Northwest Neighborhoods announces Executive Director Kent Márquez

June 24, 2024

The Board of Directors of Northwest Neighborhoods CDC is pleased to announce its selection of Bridget Kent Márquez (she/they) as the organization’s Executive Director, following one year of her interim executive directorship. Under Kent Márquez’s leadership, the nonprofit has evolved as an innovative provider of affordable housing and community development services for the Cudell, Detroit Shoreway, and Edgewater neighborhoods.

“Bridget has proven to be a thoughtful, creative, and brave leader,” said Anna Perlmutter, Northwest Neighborhoods’ Board President. “I am so grateful for their hard work and vision during this period of organizational change, and I am thrilled to continue this work together. Our communities are lucky to have such a values-driven leader working on our behalf.”

"I always remind our board and staff that teamwork is the source of all our successes,” said Kent Márquez. “Today, Northwest Neighborhoods is stronger and more effective thanks to our collaborative team, and I am excited to continue being the biggest champion of our work.”

During the last year, Kent Márquez ensured the commencement of Northwest Neighborhoods’ 2024-2028 Strategic Plan, helped to secure commitments of an additional $5 million for the Karam Senior Living development, and implemented new property management systems centered around tenants of the organization’s 350+ units of affordable housing. In June 2023, she became the interim Executive Director after the departure of Northwest Neighborhoods’ former Executive Director, Adam Stalder. Kent Márquez had previously served as Northwest Neighborhoods’ Managing Director.
